10:18 pm - Update! I thought I do a little bit more procrastination with studying for my Cross-cultural Psychology test and update my journal. I went to Faire today, that was a lot of fun, got to see some jousting, see Bree, and was hugged by a man on stilts. Also got some much needed housework done and had time to make a fantastic Beef Stew. I have a few mid-terms this week, but after this month things should be a lot more low-key. I'm losing some hours at work starting next week so it means more free time. It also means a heck of a lot less money ;.; I should hopefully be okay though. After May I can start working full-time with the whole graduation thing. I sort of wonder what that will be like. Right now work and school is so stressful. It will be nice to just do one or the other. Current Mood: tired Current Music: starry night TOS

08:53 pm - Sac-Anime 2010 I guess that Sac anime was a huge "success" over the summer so all the future shows are set at the Radisson Hotel. I was a little disappointed with the show in the summer just because of the sheer lack of management skills. No one really knew anything, and the hall way was really crowded. I have to admit though that the Radisson is a step up from the Scottish Rite center though and if this trend continues perhaps Sac anime will one day be large enough to get a bigger hotel or even the Sacramento Convention Center. Anyhow I was thinking of attending the Winter Sac-anime because it is in a hotel and Vic will be there. Is there anyone interested in going with me for a Saturday? I was also looking into the option of volunteering for the convention too; that's still up in the air though...

09:58 pm - Got a new Kitty. Ross, Bowes, Scotty and I went to petsmart today to adopt a new kitty. We went through an organization called Katmom that rescues cats and puts them in good homes. There were a lot of pretty kittens but most of them were skidish around Bowes. After a few hours we decided on a boy silver tabby named Bugsy. We decided on him since he managed to outsmart Scotty by escaping under a display case. Bugsy is really sweet and he really likes Mr. Bowes. I think he really likes his new home.

01:18 pm - SUSHI Went to a nice sushi restaurant in Roseville the other day called "arigato's."All of their rolls are 1/2 off (I guess it's like that always) so the price was incredible! around 6$ for a fancy roll or 3$ for a californian roll. I was a little skeptic about the quality because of the price, Tokyo Dori has the same deal going on but the last time I went there they had tons of mayo on the sushi and the quality was only so-so. (It made me really sad I used to like Tokyo Dori sushi) Arigato sushi was pretty good though, not quite Blue Nami or Mikuni's level but better than most. As far as everything else went I wouldn't recommend it. I took Ross and he got a 10$ bento for lunch (it was the cheapest thing for lunch aside from sushi) and he said that everything tasted aweful aside from the rice. His sesame chicken came in little ball form...it was very interesting. I think I'd like to go again, anyone interested? Current Music: Tales of Innocence OP

06:24 pm - Sunday Afternoon So I've been still trying to get over this cold. I've been sick since Tuesday and it wasn't until today that I was able to go out. Not much has really gone on this week aside from work and bed. I cooked a shepherd's pie tonight, I've had this recipe for a while but I couldn't do a lot of cooking because of the cold. I also got an e-mail today that made me rather sad. Phil from past and peasant just got diagnosed with Leukemia and is very sick in the hospital. Bree said that she might still be able to come to the Fair Oaks Faire next weekend for a little while, but I'm really sad about Phil. He is in need of blood donors and those that can donate platelets so there will be some blood drives held this next week for him. I'm planning on donating blood and platelets sometime this next week, if anyone else is interested in donating on behalf of Phil just let me know and I'll give you more details. Current Mood: sad

06:35 pm - Semester comes to a close.... I'm so glad school is almost over. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do well in all of my classes, I have a solid B and A- in two of my classes right now without taking the final, and in Animal Behavior I've got a pretty good shot at a B+ if I do so-so on the final. The only class I'm up in the air about right now is Psych 101, she curves the class but even so about 40% of the class is failing right now. I did well on the first test but the second was horrible and 50% of my grade comes from Lab which I only have a B in. I'm sort of worried, but even at the worst case I know I'll still pass. I just don't want it to bring down my GPA, I really hate that class though. I've taken Stats before and this is pretty much that, except she has specific rules for everything and if I don't write things down her way on the test I don't get any credit. It sucks because I know how to do this stuff I just don't know her way. This is probably why so many are failing. Anyhow I only have next week and then I've got Fanime! I'm super excited. Work has been going pretty well too, my superiors said that as soon as May is over I'll see more hours and they've got some new cases for me in Folsom. It's the first time in a long time that I can say that I love my job, maybe the first time ever. I liked working at gamestop, but I acted as nothing more then a cog in the machiene. Here I can see that I'm making a difference, it may not be much, but it really makes me happy to know I'm doing something meaningful. Well that's enough about school and work. I'm really looking forward to the summer, after Fanime I think I'll go camping or something. would anyone be interested in going camping or something for a weekend? I guess I should work out the "or-something" part, so if anyone has ideas let me know!

12:44 pm - News about Fanime I just got my ticket online for Fanime so I'm all set to go. I've got some bad news though, apparently some of the people going with us are having Money issues right now so it may be back to just Me, Tabi, and Lina. If Gappy gets a job he said he'd go with his girlfriend so things are still up in the air. E-mail me if there are any more questions; Current Location: night wish - crownless Current Mood: annoyed

08:34 am - Almost Spring Break.... All of my teachers canceled class this Friday except for my last class which has a test. So I guess spring break technically starts after that test but it's just so sunny outside I don't want to study. I think I might just go outside and work on the garden, it's been looking pretty good recently. A bunch of minions came over the other day and we all made planter boxes, now the backyard is filled with them. It's March so there is a lot of veggies we're going to plant; tomatoes, squash, bell peppers etc. We also recently put in an orange tree as well. Yey Spring! 01:18 pm I've got a really bad cold not a good way to start out the month. I got sick from Ross, who got sick from Scotty, who got sick from a CCI trainer- it's a vicious cycle of germs. I skipped my morning classes, I really hope that doesn't hurt my grade too bad but there is really nothing I can do. I might not make it to my 5 pm class, but that would really hurt my grade so I'm trying to go at all costs. I think I have a quiz and a lab to do....gah this class is so labor intensive. It's not difficult, just a lot of work. Bowes is still getting over his kennel cough too so Ross is taking him to the Vet. Everyone seems to be getting sick, I guess it's just that time of the year. 08:44 pm - Borders is what...? Apparently the Borders in the Sunrise Mall is going out of business...that makes me really sad that place has been around for a long time. It seems to be the way of things what with international imports leaving too. Their last day is Friday. The good news is that everything is 40% off including all manga. I'm pretty sure that a lot of manga has been snatched up, but there is bound to be something. Current Music: Dark Chest of Wonders

12:10 pm - AMV's from Fanime I just got a response from the creator of "the Harassment of Kyon," after much begging and pleading she has agreed to post it on you tube the week after AX. On that same subject, I found the winners of the AMV contest for Fanime (not that it's exactly new news) What baffeled me though was "Be a Man" was found the best overall AMV. Not that the video was horrid, it was funny--but there was nothing special and it didn't even compare to other contestants. I found that the reason for this was that instead of existing in the comedy section where it should have been it was under "experimental." Best overall AMV was measured by how much a video won it's category. Since all of the other experimental entries tended to me more artistic as apposed to "Be a Man" which was a comedy AMV, "Be a Man" won the category with a landslide victory and thus won best AMV. Comedic AMV's always tend to do better in the public eye then artistic ones, which is why there were many more entries in that category as apposed to any other. I hope next year things go a little bit better... Current Location: Ross' Room Current Music: Sharada
